1/23/19 - There will be a parent meeting for Boys & Girls Golf teams on Wednesday, January 23rd @ 6:00 pm in room A213 to discuss all things for the upcoming season!
2/28/18 - The golf season is almost here! We have been practicing the past two weeks and there are many great things that are in store for the teams this year. Coach Cafarella and I are very proud to coach such a dedicated and strong group of young men and women. We will kick of the season this Saturday at Bear's Best for the North Gwinnett Invitational. Looking forward to watching our kids compete against some of the best teams in Gwinnett County and the state.
3/27/17 - Both Varsity Teams took on a very strong field this weekend at the Longhorn Invitational held at the Sugar Hill Golf Club in Buford, GA. The slope of this course, 140, is the highest that we will face this year, and the kids will attest to this. Strong performances by the Starr's Mill girls and boys led them to a 2nd and 1st place finish respectively, and the boys had the low medalist for the tournament shooting a 72. Blake Rodgers led the team with an 84 and the boys finished 10th overall. This week we will face Mountain View on Tuesday and Lanier on Thursday, both home matches. Coach Ogburn
3/9/17 - Both Varsity Teams took on Lanier this past Thursday at their home course, Sugar Hill Golf Club. Lanier's Boys team was short one of their best players, Sebastian Andersen, and the Varsity Boys team took advantage and came out on top 165-182. The next match for both teams will be Wednesday against Chattahoochee.
3/4/17 - The Varsity Boys and Girls teams each took in an impressive field this weekend in their respective tournaments. The girls faced a one hour frost delay to the start of the West Hall Invitational held at Chateau Elan's Woodlands Course. The boys teed off first with North Gwinnett, Hillgrove and Wesleyan. Half-way through the round, the winds picked up from 11 to 20 mph, making the course very difficult. The boys finished T-19 with a team Score of 333, while Lambert's Boys Team won the tournament with a total team score of 301.
2/28/17 - The Varsity and JV Boys teams took on Chattahoochee in our first match of the season. The Varsity team won by two strokes, 169 - 171, with Brock Healy carding an even par (35), and Blake Rodgers a +9 (44). Morgan Harris and Cole Cropper split their grouping with +10 (45) for each.
The boys on the JV team competed in their first match ever and Chattahoochee took the match. We are proud of these young men and are looking forward to watching them progress throughout the season. Next up is the Johnny Paulk Invitational for the Varsity Boys in Jekyll Island on Saturday, 3/4, and the West Hall Invitational for the girls. Good luck to both teams
2/25/17 - Both Varsity teams played today in the Longhorn Par 3 Shootout. The boys finished in 2nd place with Brock Healy leading the team with a +4 (58) and Blake Rodgers with a +13 (67). The girls finished 5th with Amanda Bowden +26 (90) and Caitlin Cregan +(28) anchoring the ladies team. Next up for the Varsity and JV Boys is a match on Tuesday, 2/28 against Chattahoochee at our home course of River Pines. Tee times start at 4 pm.
1/21/17 - Our home course for this year will be RiverPines Golf Club in John's Creek. Tryouts will be held here on February 13 - 14. Please be sure you have a physical on file with the school, otherwise you will not be eligible to compete. Looking forward to a great season! -Coach Ogburn
